When a person’s emotions exceed their tolerance of distress, mental illness may come along.

Depression is a contradictory thing, people never desire it, nor do they ever notice it in themselves.
It unconsciously steals a person’s identity and mind. People struggle in depression, but somehow feel safe hiding themselves inside of it. Depression is like a tangled friendship - it’s hard to get rid of, and also an enemy to be eliminated. Choosing to avoid depression, or longing for others’ understanding, will aggravate the illness.

Thus, the only way out is to confront the illness itself, in order to be redeemed.
